[Database Modeling] Relational Model (1)

  1. Definition

    The relational model is an orderly, predictable, and (for the most part) intuitive approach to perceiving, organizing, and manipulating business data. As such, the relational model is a template for how data appear to a user, how a user performs operations on the data, and how the data behave when they are manipulated. It is important to note that the relational model is an intellectual concept defining user perception of data.
